Getting Ready For Your Cleaning

Before Cleaning:

  1. Make sure all small breakable items are removed from the area to be cleaned.
  2. Remove all items off any furniture you are having us move. Or the Budget Package you will need to move any furniture you want us to clean under out of the area before we arrive.
  3. Make sure all toys, etc., are put away.
  4. Remove shoes and other items from closet carpet if you would like them cleaned.
  5. Put pets in a secure place away from the area to be cleaned.
  6. Pin up draperies, bed skirts, and skirts on furniture that come within 1 inch of the floor.
  7. For the Budget Package, vacuum thoroughly, especially the traffic areas.
During Cleaning:

  1. Point out to the technician any special concerns that you have. Be sure to tell the technician if you know the source of any spots – it greatly increases the chance that stubborn spots can be removed.
  2. Keep pets and children out of the area where the technician is working – for safety's sake.
Please remove all important knick-knacks, plants, etc. Large items such as sectional sofas, china cabinets, large TVs, computers, etc., cannot be removed. Please let us know at the time of scheduling if you'll be having beds, dressers and desks moved so we can allow our technician extra time and provide them with the needed assistance. Moving furniture is an additional charge and you can locate that information under our Carpet Cleaning Packages. Please keep all small children and pets away from our equipment and hoses at the time of cleaning to ensure that they, and our staff, are safe.
After Cleaning:

  1. It is best to stay off damp carpet as much as possible, both to avoid tracking soil in and to allow the pile to dry in its "up" position.
  2. If you need to walk on the carpet, be very careful walking from the damp carpet onto a hard surface such as tile or linoleum, because your feet will be VERY SLIPPERY. We recommend that you put bath towels down in areas where the carpet meets the tile to dry your feet and remind you to be careful.
  3. If you walk on the carpet, it is best to wear the shoe protector booties we left for you over your shoes.
  4. Keep pets and children off the carpet until it has dried, for health and safety reasons.
  5. The carpet will take 4 to 24 hours to dry, depending upon conditions. We recommend that you run your air conditioner regardless of the outside temperature and that you keep any ceiling fans on until the carpet is dry.
  6. Plastic squares and Styrofoam blocks found under your furniture should be left in place for 72 hours, as the carpet will take longer to dry in these areas and removing them too soon can allow furniture to permanently stain the carpet.
  7. If you need to do any spot cleaning in between professional cleanings, use only the Kidds Quality Cleaning spotter that we provide to you free of charge. Other products can remove color as well as spots!
